DIY: Neon Computer Clutch

What you'll Need (pink):
1.Sewing Thread
2.magnetic clasp
3.Scissors
4.Studs/spikes
5.Pins
6. Old computer case

Pieces to cut out (white):
1. Lining
2.Lining for the flap
3.outside fabric for the flap
4. Front Neon flap
5. Pieces for the sides
6. Piece cut out for a inside pocket.

I pried off old rhinestones to re-use my old "incase" computer case that I bought from the apple store. Even though I want my case to be cute, it also has to be functional and actually PROTECT my computer which this case did very well.

I had an old Betsy Johnson charm bracelet and took the end clasp, a bow charm and one of the larger panda charms to make a great detail to hang off of one of the zippers. Isn't this little guy adorable?!

1. First sew the inside lining to the actual front of the case.
2. Sew one side of the front neon cover as well as the second piece of lining to the bottom portion of the computer case.
3. Attach the sides (not seen here) to the sides of the case and the front neon fabric.
4. Attach the inside lining and the flap to the top of the case.

Before finishing off the flap attach the magnetic clasp so that you wont see the prongs all through the bag.

I would also suggest poking holes and adding the studs to the side pieces before attaching the second side of the panel.

I added a little metal corner detail to finish off the front, but feel free to skip that step if you want.

ENJOY!!!

DIY: 4th of July Bikini Coverup.

Hey everyone!

Now that summer school is over and my real vacation has begun I finally have time to do a DIY! With the 4th of July coming up in a couple of days and the holiday weekend approaching I wanted to create something patriotic and cute to sport while at the lake with my boyfriend's family. What better than a red, white and blue bikini coverup!?

Here's what you'll need:

-A Fringed Shirt
(If you're lucky you will find one with a fringe detail already attached or you can buy trim at your local fabric store and attach it).
-Stitch Witchery
(To attach your cut out on the back of your shirt before securing it with a needle and thread).
-Iron
-Needle
-Thread
-Stencil
(I drew a picture of a deer head and skull face on printer paper and created my own stencil but feel free to use one you already own or draw a different image of your choice).
- Pins
-Studs
-Jewelry Pliers
-Scissors
-Fabric

1.Cut the shirt down the middle of the front of the shirt.
2. Create your stencil.
3. Use your stencil to trace the shape of your decal on your fabric of choice,
4. Place your cut out decal with the Stitch Witchery underneath on the back of your shirt and secure it with pins.
5. Iron one section of the decal at a time while removing the pins accordingly and make sure the Stitch Witchery adheres your decal to your shirt.
6.Once finished place your studs on the shoulders of your top in a desired pattern.

In a few simple steps you now have the perfect 4th of July bikini coverup. This is also great as a top to throw over a tank with some distressed shorts to beat the summer heat.

Check back soon to see how I wore this new DIY on my vacation.

ENJOY!!!
